The CRE Child Ministry Program serves the children in grades K4-6th of St. Mary’s and St. Peter’s Parishes in Port Washington.

We have several options available to suit your needs.

The Fall Program begins in September and runs through May. The classes meet on the St. Mary’s Campus in the school from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. K4-4th grade meet on Monday nights and 5th and 6th meet on Wednesday.

The Summer program meets fro two weeks in June and has two follow up classes in the fall and two follow up classes in spring. The classes in June meet from 9:00 a.m. to Noon the follow up classes meet on Sundays 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s School.

Home Schooling, in this program the parent will pick up the workbook and assignments, the work will be completed and work will be returned to the CRE office at a scheduled time.

This year we will be offering Family Night 1 time per month; these programs will involve the whole family. All program participants are invited to these programs. These programs will include, Why Do Catholics go To Mass, a pizza supper and Living Saints Museum starring your children of course. These will be opportunities to learn and share the Catholic faith with your children.

The 6th graders will be making a video this year to tell incoming students what the program has meant to them and will have a short skit in it. The 6th graders will have a graduation ceremony this year.

We also offer Family Programming throughout the year on Saturdays or Sundays. Please watch the bulletin and this site for information on these programs. All parish members are invited to these programs. In past programs we have made Advent Wreaths, rosaries and Paschal Candles. The program is set up so that you can attend Mass either before or after the program. The programs run for approximately two hours, but the time needed for you to complete the project is about 45 minutes. So you can come and go as is convenient for you. The programs rotate between St. Mary’s and St. Peter’s usually from 9:30 a.m. – 11: 30 a.m.
