SOCIAL JUSTICE: “Nukes Forever?”
By St Mary Administrator @ 10:20 AM :: 138 Views :: Article Rating :: Human Concerns
Ever heard of Complex 2030? Not been on the news much.

The Administration is pushing a new investment in U.S. nuclear weapons: Complex 2030, which seeks a new $150 billion investment to upgrade the entire U.S. nuclear weapons complex by 2030 and to ensure the usability and enduring role of these immoral weapons for the indefinite future. The entire nuclear arsenal will be replaced over the next 25 years with new “Reliable Replacement Warheads”. This stands as a repudiation of our obligation under Article VI of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty to end the arms race at an early date and to negotiate ‘in good faith” the elimination of the nuclear arsenal.

Scripture Reflection for November 25, 2007
By St Mary Administrator @ 10:28 AM :: 102 Views :: Article Rating :: Church News
The feast of Christ the King is relatively new to our calendar, dating only from the 1920’s. Of course, the concept of Jesus as King goes back to the earliest days of the Church, when the Gospels have Pilate ask him if he is a King, and the “good thief” asks to be remembered when Jesus entered into His kingdom. Interestingly, this celebration of Jesus as King begins about the time when kings are more and more scarce on the world stage.

Gays Mills Report
By St Mary Administrator @ 9:37 AM :: 123 Views :: Article Rating :: RCIA News
Recently, one or more members of your parish joined 12 other adults in a mission trip to the Gays Mills, WI, area. We were able to help seven families. With the help of 12 volunteers from seven Catholic parishes and two Methodist parishes, we ran electrical wiring, installed insulation, drywall, flooring, vinyl siding, winterized two homes and helped erect a yert (a tent-like living structure covered with canvas). Most of our time went to helping a family with two young children who were living in a pop-up camper. When we arrived, the Amish home they had acquired had one electrical outlet and the walls were gutted. When we left, they had electrical wiring in the entire home, the downstairs was insulated, dry walled and the base flooring was in.

St. Mary’s and St. Peter’s College Connection
By St Mary Administrator @ 8:42 AM :: 112 Views :: Article Rating :: Youth Ministry News
… Remembering and encouraging our members in college! What is it? This ministry is our way of communicating with the college students from our parishes. This communication happens twice a year and involves sending a “shoe box care package” to our students before exam time each semester. We need student’s addresses: If you have a son or daughter from the parish in college whether living at home or away and would like them to receive a care package, you must give us his or her current mailing address. We can only send the packages to students whose current mailing addresses are given to us. E-mail, mail or call them into the Youth Ministry Office or drop them into the Sunday Collection basket labeled “College Connection.” There are two ways you can help:
