Something New For Advent

Two methods of praying with scripture will be taught during Advent. At church pick up the Catholic Update "Advent Day by Day – Rest Stops for a Rushed People." This contains the daily scripture readings plus a handout explaining the two prayer methods. You may practice on your own, or come to any of these group sessions where both methods will be taught and demonstrated. Each session will focus on different scripture passages, so you may attend all 3 sessions if you like. Sessions will last 1 hour.

Friday, December 5 is the 10th annual Living Nativity in Random Lake. The Nativity show is located outside at the St. Mary’s Chapel of Our Lady of the Lakes on Butler St. The performances are at 5:30 PM, 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM. Five area churches sponsor this event and look forward to bringing the true meaning of Christmas to audiences of all ages.

World AIDS Day is planned for December 1. AIDS remains one of the biggest health challenges in the world. In heavily affected countries, HIV/AIDS has orphaned nearly 12 million children. It spread has orphaned nearly 12 million children, increased poverty and decreased life expectancy by more than 20 years.
