Mission Trip Registration Meeting
By St Mary Administrator @ 12:00 AM :: 199 Views :: Article Rating :: Youth Ministry News

Mission trips are immersion experiences in an underprivileged community, usually for several days to a week. During the time spent on the mission trip, whether locally or elsewhere in the country, the participants have the opportunity to contribute their time and talents to those segments of society that need it most by house painting, light construction including home repair and building, child care, tutoring, working in a food pantry – wherever the need is in the community along with other people from across the country. In the evenings, there is time for fellowship, reflection, prayer as well as fun! One free day is available to the groups to explore the area in which they are working.

For 2006, the parishes of St. Peter’s and St. Mary’s, through the Office of Youth Ministry, in collaboration with the parishes of Random Lake, Fredonia and Belgium, will be offering two opportunities to be part of this exciting ministry. We will once again be going Catholic Heart Work camp (www.heartworkcamp.com) and through Shine Catholic Work camp (www.shinecatholicworkcamp.com). (As of this writing we have not made a final decision on place but there will be a trip in June and one in July.) The bulk of the expense will be raised through fundraising activities of those attending the trips. For more information or to register, contact the Youth Ministry Office. Attendance by the studen and/or the parent at the orientation meeting on October 16th at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lakes in Random Lake is Mandatory.
