Clothing/Blanket Drive Oct 29-30
By St Mary Administrator @ 12:00 AM :: 278 Views :: Article Rating :: Human Concerns

The Human Concerns committee received a request from the House of Peace, in Milwaukee, for cold weather items. So clean your closets now, for the drive that will be held the weekend of October 29-30, to benefit the House of Peace. They are especially in need of larger size men’s, women’s and older children’s sweaters, socks, coats, and (new) underwear. Quilts and blankets are also greatly needed, but no bed linens or other household items, please. And of course, make sure that the items are clean and usable--don’t send stained or torn items. Place items in the back of church the last weekend in October. Any questions, call Linda 284-7288.

Respect Life Month
Respect Life month began last weekend. Be sure to stop at the respect life table and see all the different ways life should be respected. Note the poster with a sample of the first hats and booties made by inmates at Waupun, with yarn collected from our yarn drive. The baby blankets are expected in November. We will again collect layette items (and monetary/check donations) for Pregnancy Help Center. It appears that the devastating fire that they had several weeks ago, may have been arson.
