Poinsettias for the Homebound
By St Mary Administrator @ 11:36 AM :: 267 Views :: Article Rating :: Human Concerns

Next weekend, as part of Advent, parishioners have the opportunity to deliver a poinsettia plant, a card made by 3rd and 4th graders, and a Sunday bulletin, to parishioners who are homebound, or in a nursing home. There are a number of Catholics who made their home in Port to be closer to their children, are now in a nursing home, and whose “home” parish is not St. Mary’s or St. Peter’s. But, they are on the communion visit list at the nursing home. Distributing Poinsettias to all nursing home Catholics, and homebound parishioners, is a great way to spread our mission of outreach, and remember fellow Catholics at this very special and holy time of the Church year. If you know of a homebound parishioner that needs to be placed on the list, please call Mary McHugh or the parish office. All those in Port nursing homes are already on the list. Many thanks from your Human Concerns Committee
