SOCIAL JUSTICE: Christian Foundation for Children and Aging
By St Mary Administrator @ 8:01 AM :: 370 Views :: Article Rating :: Human Concerns

For some time, parishioners at St. Mary and St. Peter have been sponsoring more than 50 children or ageing persons through an organization called the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging. For a small amount each month, a family can sponsor one or more children or aging persons in many countries around the world, establish a relationship with them, and both send and receive letters that help this relationship develop, and share lives. Occasionally, the sponsors find it possible to visit their sponsored friends. In communities where CFCA is present, the sponsorship program provides members with a common bond; they can gather and make decisions that affect their families and communities. This is an especially wonderful project for a whole family to undertake; it helps develop compassion in our young people and gives them a window into another culture.

CFCA is a Catholic organization based in Kansas City. For more information on becoming a sponsor, please contact CFCA at their website: www.cfcausa.org, or call 1-800-875-6564. A little child may be waiting for your interest!
