Transitions: Life’s Uncharted Waters – Friday-Sunday, February 8-10, 2008 at the Racine Dominican Retreat Program, located at Siena Center, 5635 Erie Street, Racine, WI 53402. Presented by Miriam Brown, OP. What do you do when you feel like something in you is dying and you don’t yet see new life? You are adrift between things: perhaps it was through a decision (yours or another’s), fatigue of body or spirit, a life-stage change, a disorienting circumstance or loss, a change in an important relationship, death of a loved one, a shift in faith or prayer. You have lost your familiar moorings and have been “launched out into the deep.” Such a transition affects everything, including your comfort-level with God. Although one Psalm says the earth is a firm foundation, another says it is “founded upon the seas.” Here we are, founded upon the ever-moving seas, baptized into those swelling waters again and again. The disciples of Jesus staggered through the catastrophic endings of Lent. As Easter Christians, we know we will gain new life if we can only get there. The Resurrection and Pentecost tell us we can. Cost: $175. Archdiocesan clock hours: 1.5 Theol B/I/A/M; 1.5 Meth/Psy B/I/A/M. Contact Sr. Rita Lui at 262.639.4100 x1230.
