I know that some members of the parish have gone to other parish and seen “different procedures” for Mass. To clarify the situation here at S. Mary’s, the following will be in place on the Second Sunday of Lent, February 17th:
1. A slight bow of the head at the words in the Creed, “by the power of the Holy Spirit, he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.”
2. At the end of the Offertory (preparation of the Gifts) Please stand for the response, “May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands…”
3. The Extra-Ordinary Ministers for Communion will begin moving to the Altar after the words,” Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, only say the word and I shall be healed.” have been said.

When the new Sacramentary is done (2011???) there will be others including a new translation of the people’s responses. What I have included above is sufficient for the time being.
