The 2nd collection for this month will be for the St. Vincnet DePaul Society. We ask our fellow parishioners for monetary help but once a year and this is the time. What you put into the basket will go to the poor of Port Washington. Last fiscal year our conference expenses were under 1% of what we used in service to the poor. We receive nothing for this work. Well, that’s not quite true; God is watching. Please join us with a few dollars in the basket. Blessed Frederick Ozaman, the founder of our society, was an amazing man. Brilliant, rich by the standards of his time, he passed up a prestigious and hightly paid position in Lyons because it would have interfered with his avocation of helping the poor in the slums of Paris. That was back in 1836; we’re still trying to follow his example. We have no slums, but we do have those invisible people I mentioned 2 weeks ago. Your contributon will help.
Thank you Tom Klotz, Conference President.
