What does a Parish Council do? The Parish Council, which meets monthly on the first Thursday, has the responsibility to determine the direction of the parish, oversee its pastoral activity and temporal affairs and challenge the parish to grow in response to the Gospel. The council has nine elected members and three ex-0fficieo members (the pastor and two lay trustees). After the discernement of new members, the council choses liaisons to each of the council committees and discerns offiers. The role of the parish trustees is to oversee the parish’s civil and legal matters.

March 29/30 will be Leadership Nomination Sunday. At all liturgies, parish members will have the opportunity to nominate parishioners to serve in leadership positions: three for the parish council, one for the school board, and one for trustee-treasurer. Please spend some time in the coming weeks prayerfully tinking of those you feel are gifted by the Holy Spirit to serve in this ministry of leadership. (Remember, you may also nominate yourself.) Nominees must be baptized, registered parishioners 18 years of age or older. (Trustees must be 25 years of age.) All nominees will be notified by letter and asked to attend an orentation session before making the decision to accept candidacy and participating in the final discernment process. Please cintinue to pray for the selection of good leadership in our parish.
