Funerals During Holy Week

This note is just a reminder that funerals during the last three days of Holy week (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) are not allowed by Church Law and custom. Yes, the importance of these days over-rides personal sorrow. This may seem uncaring but the Church wants everyone on the same page during these days. What the Church proposes is a service and burial. The Funeral Mass can be done beginning on Easter Tuesday. This is not new. This is part of the “unwritten traditions” of the church.
