Children's Corner

Last week’s answer, “In the beginning was the Word,” is from the gospel of John. This week’s question The person who said, “On this rock I will build my church was. (a) Jesus (b) Peter (c) John (d) Luke
Jesus dines with those who were considered the cast outs of society, sinners, the poor, the sick. He did this to show us that in heaven there are no social standards. This is a difficult teaching today because there are so many standards for being accepted. You should dress a certain way, talk a certain way, look a certain way. Most of us try hard to fit into the mold especially when we are children. This week talk as a family about what makes you unique and resolve to look past the social standards as Jesus did. Then do something that will reinforce your resolve, give money to a good cause, donate to a food pantry or clean out your closets and donate to a shelter for the homeless. You will feel good and it will be good for the community.
