Last time’s answer, green is the color of Ordinary Time, white is the color for Easter, and purple is the color for Advent and Lent. Orange is not a color of the Liturgical Year. This week’s question, When does the Liturgical Year start?
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us that we will be judged on the acts we have shown to others, specifically those who are the least among us. We are to shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, bury the dead, visit the sick and those in prison. Wow, that is a lot isn’t it? However, when we do these things we show God’s compassion to those in need.
This week talk about some concrete ideas you can implement to show God’s compassion. Perhaps this year each of you could give up a small portion of your gifts and purchase a gift for “Gift a Child”, drop some change in the Salvation Army Pail instead of buying a soda or coffee, there are many things we can do. This will provide immediate relief for those in need, and will establish the habit of giving to those who have less than we do.
Have a blessed week!
