Last week’s answer is We lit a purple candle on the first Sunday of Advent, it stands for beginning the preparation for Jesus’ birth. This week’s question When is the rose or pink colored candle lit during Advent?

On Monday December 8th we celebrate the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This means that Mary never had any sin, not even original sin. We all think that to be chosen by God for a special job is an awesome thing. We honor Mary for being chosen by God to be the mother of Jesus. The truth is that each of us is chosen by God to do something special. We are given gifts and talents to help others and to serve God. The hard thing is to decide what our particular talent is.

This week talk about the special talents each of you have. More importantly how you use that talent to help others and to become a better person yourself. Pray together that each of you can accept your special calling and answer God the way Mary did, with a yes. In honor of Mary say a decade of the rosary.

If you would like more information about praying the rosary or would like a rosary please stop in the Religious Ed. Office at St. Mary’s.

Have a blessed week.
