At Christmas we celebrate the great mystery of the Incarnation. In other words the mystery of God becoming a human being. The God who created everything from nothing, the God who is our light, became human to give us new life. Through Jesus we are able to see the face of God.
Keep the image of the Nativity in your mind and heart and talk about the details of Jesus’ birth. Recognize that God made his home among us by becoming a human person.
Of course today there will be a lot of work and excitement as families get together to celebrate. There will be presents to open and favorite dishes to eat, and of course the clean up. This is a wonderful and important part of Christmas. However, take some time to thank God for the wonderful gift of His humanity, and for all it means to us as fellow human beings.
