The answer to last week’s question. Jesus told the leper to go to the priests and make an offering, but not to tell anyone else.
This weeks question. What is this week’s Psalm about?
This week Jesus is preaching, he is becoming more and more popular with people and large crowds follow him everywhere. Four friends want their paralyzed friend to be healed, but the house where Jesus is preaching is so crowded that they can not get in. They decide to lower him through the roof. Jesus is impressed by their faith and not only heals him, but also forgives his sins.
This angers the scribes because they believe that only God can forgive sins, they are beginning to accuse Jesus of blasphemy.
This passage helps us make a connection between faith and Jesus’ healing power. The Church helps people who are sick. We care for people who are sick, we pray for people who are sick, and we have the special Sacrament the Anointing of the Sick.
Talk together about how you can help those who are sick. Perhaps you can visit, take them a meal, or very importantly pray with and for them.
Have a blessed week.
