In my comments last week at all the Masses, I gave you information on how to balance the Catholic Stewardship Appeal for 2009, I have determined the goal as $26,000 not $31,000 that the Archdiocese has recommended. They did this because the record of your generosity over the past few years was as follows:
2004 $26,490
2005 $28,440
2006 $32,481
2007 $31,750
2008 $33,938
Every year you exceeded that stated goal. Again, thanks to all the donors. I have lowered the goal for 2009 because of the Faith in Our Future campaign. I know that there will be sacrifice involved. But all I ask is that you do the best that you can for both. Remember the Stewardship Appeal wants a check. The Faith in Our Future wants a pledge over three years.
