-Jean Morrell, president of the school board, was at the meeting to discuss Port Catholic’s viability study. It was felt that after 20 years it was time to take a close look at Port Catholic and its operations. This study may take six months or more. There will be members from each parish, including IC, on the committee. There will be an attorney facilitating the study.
-Business Administrator Report- The subsidy to Port Catholic is paid in full to date, but $45,000 is still owed towards the 07/08 school year. Casino night preparations are moving along. Kim is looking for sponsors for game tables and prizes.
-The upcoming Faith in Our Future fundraising goal is based on envelope/offertory income from the prior fiscal year. Our benchmark goal is $605,000. St. Mary’s will receive back 60% of the funds raised, which equals $363,000. The criteria for using these funds are that it must be education related. Various options that met those criteria were discussed.
