-Robert Vanden Noven, the Port Washington Director of Public Works, was at the meeting to discuss the upcoming road construction project to take place this summer. He used a blueprint and an aerial photograph to discuss the project in depth. Traffic will be inconvenienced at various times throughout the project, but he vowed to keep any disruptions to an absolute minimum. We informed him that there is a tunnel running between the church and the school. During construction it may be necessary to have two-way traffic on streets that are currently one-way. After construction, current one-way streets will retain preconstruction traffic patterns, though parking may be reduced to one side.
-Business administrator report: Casino night posters will be printed at no cost to the parish. Five of the ten game tables are sponsored-seeking five more sponsors. Prize donations are coming in.
At present St. Mary’s is about $10,000 behind with the current year school subsidy.
The insulation at Anita’s Gardens has been completed.
Rebates from the PC boiler project have come in.
Through the Workforce Development Center it’s possible to apply for a laborer for up to an eight week period. All wages are paid by the Workforce Dev. Center. Through this program young people can get some real-world work experience.
-More volunteers are needed to assist with the Faith in Our Future campaign.
