2009 Street Improvements

The reconstruction of Dodge, Woodruff, Catalpa, Van Buren, Johnson, and Powers streets will begin on Monday, June 15. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON ANY OF THESE STREETS BEGINNING AT 7:00 AM THAT DAY. All streets will be pulverized to allow the contractor to excavate and install new water main and storm sewer. The estimated schedule is as follows:
June 15, Pulverize all roads
June 16 – July 10, Water main and service installation
July 13 – 17, Storm and Sanitary Sewer Improvements
July 20 - August 7, Roadway excavation and base course placement
August 10 – 21, Curb, driveway, and sidewalk construction
August 24 – 31, Final grading and paving
Some work on Woodruff (east of Catalpa) and Dodge may extend into September. The contractor is scheduled to work 4 ten hour days/week, working on Friday only if necessary to make up for rain days. Normal working hours are 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM. All schedules are subject to change.
Water main improvements will require two service interruptions of usually less than 4 hours. You will be given a minimum of 24 hours notice prior to any water service interruption.
The street will be open to local traffic, including the church and light station. “One Way” restrictions will be lifted during construction. Residents will have access to their driveways with the exception of the time when curb and driveway approaches are installed. You will be notified in advance of being restricted from access to your driveway.
