St. Mary’s Congregation will be sponsoring a new outreach ministry that is available to all members of the Port Washington/Saukville community entitled Financial Peace University (FPU). FPU is taught in video format (followed by group discussion) by Dave Ramsey, host of “The Dave Ramsey Show”, a nationally syndicated radio talk show offering life-changing financial advice that is heard locally on 1130 AM WISN weeknights from 11:00 PM to midnight.

One of the greatest needs of today's church is practical, biblically based money-management education for members: true discipleship in the area of stewardship. In the midst of the struggling economy, most people in the church and community want and need help getting their finances in order—even if they are not saying they are in trouble. Financial Peace University (FPU) has already given hope to more than 800,000 families by teaching them biblical financial principles in a way that's practical, easy-to-understand and FUN!

It's no secret that the Bible has a lot to say about money—there are more than 800 Scripture references on the subject. As Dave Ramsey teaches this 13-week class on DVD, class members learn to apply these truths to their everyday lives by:

Classes are weekly and will begin on Wednesday, September 9, at 7:00 PM and will be held in the St. Mary school library. The course will be finished by 12/9/09 so what better way to get 2010 off to a great start!

Two free previews of the course will be given on Sunday, August 16, at 10:00 AM and Wednesday, August 19, at 7:00 PM (both also in the St. Mary library).
