“Neighbors Helping Neighbors” Program Funds Needed

More than a thousand people per month are calling St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) for help, an all-time record. Requests have increased by 15% this year. Vincentians strive to establish supportive relationships, provide community information and referral, and assist with the basic necessities of life when they can: food, clothing, furniture (especially beds and kitchen sets) and sometimes rent and utilities.

The St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) groups working in the highest poverty-stricken areas of our community are the hardest hit. For many years, the “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” Fund has provided SVDP groups the ability to offer some assistance to people in need.

Donations from caring individuals and faith-based groups have kept this SVDP Fund solvent. This year, the needs for basic and emergency aid are overwhelming. If you can offer a financial contribution to keep this work alive, please mail your gift to:

SVDP “Neighbors Helping Neighbors”
9601 W Silver Spring Drive
Milwaukee, WI 53225-3301

Or contact members of your parish St. Vincent de Paul Society for information on how you can help.
