Are you looking for a rewarding way to put your faith into action? The Aurora Visiting Nurse Association of Wisconsin seeks hospice volunteers to assist our hospice patients and their families in Dodge, Jefferson, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha Counties. The following opportunities include: Visiting hospice patients in their own homes allowing the caregiver to get out of the house for a few hours. Volunteers might read, do light household chores, make or deliver meals—anything a good neighbor might do. Contacting family members dealing with the death of a loved one, and assisting with Memorial Services and support groups. Providing office and clerical assistance to the staff. Providing the “Professional Volunteers” who would be willing to share their skills such as massage therapist, beauticians, social workers, attorneys, music and pet therapy and more. Required Skills: compassion, empathy, and a willingness to listen and learn. Hospice volunteers need no pervious nursing training. We will train you to be a hospice volunteer. Join us on the path to service and self-discovery. If you would like to learn more, please call Megan Beine Volunteer Coordinator at 414-328-4453 or email megan.beine@aurora.org.
