Who is Called to Leadership?

A leader in a Christ-centered community is called into the community of believers and to discover their the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. He or she must be a full member of that community, accountable to it, and committed to minister with his or her whole being. Parish leadership implies a mature, lively faith, energy and creativity, and the ability to listen well and relate to others in the group. The mature leader always seeks to do what is best for the good of the parish and although comfortable with power, chooses to use it to nurturer growth in others.
Next weekend is Leadership Nomination Sunday. You will be asked to complete a leadership nomination ballot. Please give prayerful thought to those parishioners you feel would be good parish council members/school board member/ trustee and submit their names in nomination (remember, you may nominate yourself.) Please indicate the position for which you are nominating. Also, please note on the bottom of the ballot the names of the present council and school board members and refrain from listing them. Please continue to pray for leaders for St. Mary who will be filled with grace, wisdom and vision. Thank you for your participation.
