A $3 BAG OF EASTER CANDY IS about 18 meals! Checks can be made out to Feed My Starving Children or St. Peter’s—put MP 1004-02 in the memo. FMSC is a charitable 501(c)3, tax deductible organization. Does your workplace have matching funds? Need service hours? Scout troops? Group of friends? Amount raised so far is $13,006.16, Week #6 $1,343.96 raised, which is 7,906 meals. This is enough for 76,507 of the 100,000 meals! 3/4 OF THE WAY THERE!
Sign-up times: Thursday April 8, pack 6:00 PM -8:00 PM—10 SPOTS LEFT, Friday April 9, pack 1:00 PM -3:00 PM—35 SPOTS LEFT, Friday April 9, pack 5:00 PM -7:00 PM—35 SPOTS LEFT, Saturday April 10, pack 11:30 AM-1:30 PM---25 SPOTS LEFT.
Please sign your family up—back of church or phone/e-mail below. Kids can volunteer (ages 5-18). I need the age of all kids. A reminder e-mail/phone call will be done closer to the event with other information –place, directions, etc.
Our parish cluster human concerns committee is spearheading this wonderful Ozaukee County project. The meal is a formula designed by food scientists—rice, soy protein, 20 vitamins and minerals, dehydrated vegetables, and vegetarian chicken flavor. One meal costs only 17 cents, and we plan to pack and ship 100,000 meals from Ozaukee County. It takes 500 volunteers to pack 100,000 meals. We also need to another raise $4,000 to pay for the meals. Fifteen volunteers can pack 4,000 meals in just two hours!
The volunteer packing will take place at Portal Industries, in Grafton, 1015 Cedar Creek Rd (take Hwy O—Saukville) on April 8-10, 2010.
With your help, we will show how God works through this event. I hope that you will be able to join us in this extraordinary project. For further information about the project, please contact me by email (linda.gottlieb@sbcglobal.net), or phone (home 262-284-7288, cell 414-688-6462).
