An effort began in December of 2009, spearheaded by 10 Archdiocesan Priests with the support of the Archdiocesan Victim Assistant Coordinator, who are striving to form a pastoral response concerning matters of sexual abuse by priests.
Please join us in honoring all survivors of clergy sexual abuse who have been harmed by the abuse they suffered, and who have felt invisible to, and abandoned by, the church they once trusted. Those many survivors of abuse and their loved ones who have felt the call and had the courage to come forward have helped all of us in the larger church to create a safer environment for our children and to create a place where other children and families would not have to suffer the pain that they have experienced.
We alos recognize that the pain of the abuse scandal continues to ripple through our local, national and international Church communities.
Please join us for a series of candle light vigils.
We invite the survivors and their families, clergy, parishioners, and all those who care to stand together as we mourn what has been lost, and ask the Spirit to help guide us to the light of hope and the promise of resurrection in even these dark times.
