Dear Members of St. Mary parish: In Creole our sisters and brothers in Haiti would say “Mesi ampil” which means “Thank you very much” for you generous contribution to Haitian Relief. Your donation of $3,526 is a gift and blessing for our sisters and bothers in Haiti whose lives were literally turned upside by a devastating earthquake.
Haiti is the most poverty stricken country in our hemisphere. Perhaps for the first time, the poverty of the people of Haiti has become visible to the whole world. Our hope is that the generous outpouring of funds from all parts of the world will evolve into long term efforts to work with the Haitian community to address the causes of poverty and deprivation.
Your generous contribution will help the people of Haiti to address their immediate and long term needs. Please keep the people in your prayers. They have a long road of recovery ahead of them.
