These new rules are called Beatitudes.
In this week’s Gospel, Jesus told his disciples, “You are the salt of the earth.” Salt was a very expensive spice in Jesus’ time and he wanted them to know how important they were. Salt isn’t expensive anymore, but it is important. Just think about how dull our food would be without it! This week think about how you can be salt for Jesus. How can you spice up your own or another person’ life with Jesus. Listen to the Gospel.

What else did Jesus tell his disciples? (a) to hide if they were in danger (b) to make their light shine so others could see it (c) to go home to their families.
