This Week’s Saint is St. John Neumann John was always the shortest boy in his class, even as an adult he was only 5'2''. He made up for his small stature with his energy for doing the Lord's work. From an early age he dreamed of being a priest. He was very intelligent, and was skilled at languages, science and medicine. He came to the U.S. and was ordained here. Because he spoke 8 languages he was able to help immigrants from many countries. He was dedicated to all people and people returned his dedication with love and admiration. He became the bishop of Philadelphia in 1852 and was the founder of Catholic Schools in the U.S. He also started hospitals, churches, orphanages and seminaries. He died at the age of 47. His feast day is January 5. Have a Blessed Week!
